Nigeria, Egypt Sign Defence Industry Cooperation Agreement.

The Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Arab Republic of Egypt have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen defence industry cooperation.

The signing ceremony took place at the Ministry of Defence in Abuja, following a meeting between Nigerian Defence Minister, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, and the Egyptian delegation led by Assistant Defence Minister, Major General Walid Hamouda.

According to the statement “Permanent Secretary at the Nigerian Ministry of Defence, Ibrahim Kana, signed the agreement on behalf of Nigeria, while Major General Hamouda signed for Egypt.

The MoU aims to promote bilateral defence cooperation in line with the laws and regulations of both countries. Mr. Kana expressed optimism that the agreement would build on the existing robust relationship between Nigeria and Egypt, citing areas of intelligence sharing and training as examples of previous cooperation.

Major General Hamouda assured Nigeria of Egypt’s commitment to upholding the terms of the agreement, highlighting the strong cordial relationship between the two nations.
