Ekpo Hosts House Of Reps S’South Caucus, Seeks Support For Tinubu, Akpabio.

Minister of State Petroleum Resources (Gas), Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, today hosted the House of Representatives South-South Caucus led by its leader, Hon. Frederick Agbedi, where he called on the lawmakers to support the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Federal Government to deliver on his mandate to Nigerians, irrespective of their political affiliations.

Ekpo who described himself as an ambassador of the House of Reps in the federal executive (having served in the green chamber between 2007-2011), also implored the lawmakers to collaborate with the President of the Senate, Chief Godswill Akpabio, to enact laws that improve the socio-economic wellbeing of citizens.

A statement by the Minister’s spokesman, Louis Ibah, quoted him as assuring of the commitment of President Tinubu to the development of the South-South region and saying the President meant well in ending fuel subsidy as the policy has led to greater focus in investments in harnessing the country’s gas potential.

The Minister said he was working assiduously to put in place the required infrastructure that would ensure that Nigerians have access to clean and affordable gas as fuel for industries, automobiles and cooking, and appealed for patience from citizens.

Hon. Agbedi in his speech said the visit was not just to show solidarity with the Minister as an appointee from the South South, but also to interact with him as a stakeholder in the region given the ongoing constitutional review.
