NBRRI RECEIVES REPORT OF STEWARDSHIP FROM ARTISAN SKILL EMPOWERMENT INITIATIVE ON TWO WEEKS SKILLS TRAINING OF ARTISANS IN THE FCT.

“A good steward never fails to present his report of stewardship at the end of service delivery”. The above was a joyous appraisal by the Director-General of the Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute Engr. Prof. Samson Duna on 2nd of March, 2022 when he received a perfect stewardship report from the MD/CEO of Artisan Skill Empowerment Initiative (ASEI) Engr. Amos Abeni on a visit to the DG/CEO of NBRRI to present the report of ‘Two Weeks Skills Training on Some Building Crafts such as; Painting, Screeding, Plaster of Paris (POP), etc.’ organized by ASEI on the 18th to 29th of October, 2021 for the training and empowerment of some youths in the FCT.
Presenting the report, Engr. Amos Abeni appreciated the DG/CEO NBRRI and the entire management for availing ASEI the opportunity with the needed support to impact meaningfully on the lives of Nigerian youths and to add its own quota in the drive towards eradicating unemployment and youth restiveness in the country.

He further presented the report of stewardship of the two weeks training and used the opportunity to present a proposal for further support and collaborations.
Appreciating the DG/CEO and the institute on behalf of the trained artisans, Ms. Deborah Okechukwu expressed great delight on the positive impact of the training on the lives of the youths. She stated that most of them are graduates who have been roaming the streets of the country searching for white collar jobs without hope of having a meal on their table.

She explained that the training has done great things in their lives as they are now independent and self-reliance in their various traits. She concluded by soliciting for assistance of job opportunity from the institute in any little way possible.

In response, Prof. Duna appreciated the MD/CEO of ASEI for his show of loyalty and trust worthiness towards the task given to him. The DG promised more partnership with the institute and thereby promised the trained Artisans the opportunity of giving them some NBRRI’s projects to handle so as to showcase their learned skills as requested by Ms. Deborah.

He then encouraged the MD/CEO not to relent in his good works so as to join a great deal in the fight against unemployment and youth restiveness in the country.
