The former Spokesperson of the Nigeria Army has been conferred with an Award of Exellence by the Coalition of Online Media Association of Nigeria (COMAN) rooting from his selflessness and dedication to duty during his years of service in the Military

Usman Bagging the meritorious Award according to COMAN is not a mean feat looking beyond the walls security-wise. The retiree did not only serve successfully for 35 years but had also brought to bear both societal and professional ethics expected by all and sundry which has earned him the recognition laced with rarity and pride.

The event which took place at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre Abuja had shown decorum on the path of COMAN and satisfaction in totality with the Awardee’ selflessness and diligence in service to Nigeria as the Director, Army Public Relations before his retirement as well as the role he played when the military killed the Boko haram terrorist Governor of Lake Chad.

Interestingly, Usman has dedicated the rare Award of Excellence to men of the Nigeria Army who are equally serving the nation with good conscience to ensure that law and order are maintained across the country.

The Awardee expressed happiness for being amongst the 5 nominees bagging the Award of Excellence and thank the Coalition of Online Media Association of Nigeria COMAN for such a great honour.

“I am deeply humbled and and I felt highly honoured, that people that do not even know have taken interest in what I was doing and still doing which has manifested in this kind of Award. I will like to say on behalf of my family I’m really happy and very grateful for this recognition, and I look at it as a further challenge for me to be what I always be, I always be Sani Usman and have been doing the best I could anywhere I find myself either during my time as a serving Military Officer particularly when I was the Director of Army Public Relations when the country was facing serious security challenges which manifested into Terrorism, insurgency and other religious extremism using violence tool.

“Well, the motivator factor is nothing order than the passion I have for the Job and the love I have for my nation the fact that every Nigerian owns the country, it’s a duty to contribute his or her best to see that the society is better off so will can enjoin peace and tranquility. I most thank you very, the Coalition Online Media Association of Nigerian COMAN for recognizing me among millions of other people. For the fact that five of us were selected for your award. But let me assure you, I will continue with what I have been doing and I will like to dedicate this Award to the officers and men of the Nigeria Army who made me what I am today and what I was in the service.

“Their selflessness and dedication to duty made me so happy and proud to manage their image as the Spokesman to the point I have to leave the service in in February 2019, to the glory of God they are doing marvelously well. I will even congratulate them, barely some hours ago they were able to killed the Boko Haram Terrorist Governor of Lake Chad region. One thing we should understand is that Nigerian Military you have one of the best Military someone will ever think in this world because we are privileged to have worked, attended courses, seminars, and events, and visit other Army Forces.

“We might not be that equipped or sophisticated, given the circumstance we are doing marvelously well and it calls for commendation, understanding from all angles so that they can do better. Barely six years ago we are all witness to the fact that, even though it was a military formation we always have our heart in our mouth because we never can tell what will happen, because symbol of civilization, symbol of security, symbol of democracy were discreet, Police Headquarters was bombed, United Nation’s office was bombed, Military barracks were bombed, Market places, including worship centers were destroyed, even were people trade in electronics. But today, things are almost a history, it didn’t happen by accident, it happen by shared commitment, dedication and sacrifices of our armed forces and security agencies.

“With the right support they will do more, all they require is the right support, understanding and you will get the best from Nigerians, I always tell everybody, think of whatever cooperation you have, you are good in what other person don’t have at his or her disposal or tools that are far most sophisticated. He said.

” To me a private soldier in Nigeria Army is almost on the same page as a soldier in America, because if you bring an American soldier to operate in a prevalent circumstances, he can not do anything. Despite obvious limitations they are doing the best they could, and people should understand that, and issues of terrorism and insurgency, the military efforts is just a negligible percentage, possibly 30%- 40%, the 70 or 60 percent comes from other segment of Nigerian Society, to what extend have they been doing it, so people should understand that, that is why I dedicate this award to them because of their selflessness.
