NYSC Synergizes Data Protection Commission Against Identity Theft.

The National Youth Service Corps has buttressed the need to produce an array of data privacy processing professionals in the country.

It said the Scheme, being an agency that is data compliant would ensure effective collaboration with the Nigerian Data Protection Commission to achieve this mandate.

The Director General of National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General YD Ahmed disclosed this when the National Commissioner/CEO of Nigerian Data Protection Commission, Dr Vincent Olatunji, paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Abuja.

Olatunji, who said the data privacy of every Nigerian must be guaranteed, also added that the commission would intensify efforts on both technical and organizational measures in data protection against identity theft.

He stated further that the commission decided to seek collaboration with NYSC through reliance on accurate data to achieve it’s goals because the involvement of Corps Members in all the nooks and crannies of the country would be of immense benefits in data privacy control.

Brigadier General YD Ahmed however added that both agencies would constitute a team that will work out modalities that would achieve the objective of the collaboration.
