Tragedy Strikes As Attack Claims Lives Of Chadian Soldiers, President Launches ‘HASKANITE’ Operation.

In a deeply tragic incident, a base of the Defense and Security Forces in Barkaram, an island located west of Ngouboua in the department of Kaya, Lac province, came under assault last night, October 27, 2024. The attack, carried out by unidentified assailants, resulted in the loss of approximately forty soldiers, leaving the nation mourning the devastating blow.

Responding swiftly to the grim situation, President MAHAMAT IDRISS DEBY ITNO, Head of State and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, visited the scene early this morning. The President assessed the aftermath, paid solemn tribute to the fallen soldiers, extended his heartfelt compassion to the wounded, and sought to uplift the spirits of his fellow soldiers.
