HADEJIA WETLAND TRANSITION COMMITTEE SUBMITS REPORT TO GOVERNOR NAMADI.

Governor Mallam Umar Namadi today received the final report from the Transition Committee on the Hadejia Wetland and National Park. The report was presented by Alhaji Mohammed K. Dagaceri, Chairman of the Committee and Head of the Jigawa State Civil Service, during a formal ceremony held at the Government House, Dutse.

In his remarks, Alhaji Dagaceri expressed his pleasure in presenting the completed report, noting that the committee has accomplished its mandate.

“I am pleased to inform you that the committee has completed its assignment, and we are submitting the report today,” he said.

He further thanked the governor and his administration for the opportunity to serve the state, adding, “We hope that this report will be very useful to the government and the people of Jigawa State.”

Governor Namadi, in his response, lauded the committee for their exemplary work and stressed the significance of the Hadejia Wetland National Park to both the government and the people of Jigawa State.

“Today is one of the historic days because we are receiving the report of the committee on Hadejia Wetland National Park. This is historical in the sense that the former Baturiya Park is important to the government and the people of Jigawa State.”

He emphasized the quality and importance of the report, noting the expertise and dedication of the committee members. “This committee consists of eminent personalities, and I have no doubt that this report will be very rich and will certainly assist the government in making appropriate decisions,” he said.

Governor Namadi assured the committee that the state government would carefully study the report and implement its recommendations.

“On behalf of the government and the people of Jigawa State, I want to thank this committee for a job well done. “I want to assure you that the government will carefully study this report, and it will guide the government in making informed decisions,” the governor assured.

The committee’s task was to process the modalities for the handover of the Hadejia Wetland Park to the National Parks Service. Governor Namadi expressed his confidence in the report, given the extensive knowledge and experience of the committee members concerning the wetland.

“The people who participated in this committee have all the history of this wetland, and therefore, they are in the best position to advise the government on appropriate action,” he added.
