Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Ododo, has called for greater collaboration with the World Bank Group to boost development projects in key sectors of the state’s economy.
Mr Ododo made the appeal during a meeting with the new World Bank Country Director for Nigeria, Dr Ndiame Diop, in Abuja on Monday.
The governor, who was accompanied by top government officials, requested an expansion of World Bank interventions in areas such as education, healthcare, agriculture, and infrastructure.
He also urged a more programmatic approach to World Bank projects, aligning them with the state’s 30-year development agenda.
Dr Diop assured Mr Ododo of his commitment to deepening cooperation with the Kogi State government, pledging to work closely with the governor to accelerate implementation of ongoing projects.
This meeting marks the first high-level engagement between a state governor and the new World Bank Country Director, who recently assumed office in Nigeria.”
