The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla said that Physical fitness is necessary for personnel gallantry.
The CNS made this known to newsmen at the Nigeria Navy’s 2024 Second Quarter Route March on Saturday in Abuja.
CNS Ogalla revealed that physical exercise is
necessary for developing personnel’s physical and mental alertness to meet the dynamics of present security operations in the country.
The Commander Navy Unit, Abuja Commodore S.T Legaya submitted the exercise to the Chief Of Navy Administration, Rear Admiral Kennedy Ezeate.
CNS Ogalla, who was represented by Rear Admiral Kenneth Ezenta, Chief of Naval Administration, noted that the exercise aims to instill combat readiness in personnel and prepare them to face any security challenges that might come up.
According to him“This exercise ensures our men are physically fit to perform their assigned tasks, “The essence is to condition our bodies to ensure that we are physically fit.”
“I assure all Nigerians that our Navy personnel are ready to counter any security challenges, Admiral Kenneth Ezenta said.
The route match kicked off from the Nigerian Navy unit parade ground in Asokoro Abuja at 6 am today to AYA Asokoro Abuja then to naval base unit parade ground, covered a distance of 10 kilometers.
