Naval Chief,Ogalla Inaugurates New Apartments For Senior Ratings In Abuja.

The Nigerian Navy has inaugurated 36 new apartments for Senior Ratings to enhance the welfare of its personnel.
The Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla revealed this on Wednesday in Abuja that the new housing complex comprises six blocks, offering a mix of 12 spacious three-bedroom units and 18 two-bedroom apartments.
“These quarters demonstrate our commitment to enhancing the welfare of our Navy personnel.”CNS Ogalla said.
In the same vein,Commodore Tanko Lengaya, Commander of the Naval Unit Abuja, said the apartments signify a new development.
This housing project is part of a nationwide initiative to provide Senior Ratings with proper and comfortable living spaces, He said.
He said that the presence of navy personnel in the Kubwa area would assist in coordinating security in the area.
He outlines that accommodation had been a major concern for naval personnel prior to the current CNS’s tenure in office.
” This will go a long way in reducing the challenges of accommodation for the ratings, and this will be permanent accommodation for the senior rates,” he said.
The Commander Naval Unit Abuja (NUA), Commodore Tanko Lengaya, later took the CNS & dignitaries on a walk-round of the apartments.
Present were Principal Staff Officers from Naval Headquarters, members of Naval Officers Wives Association (NOWA) & members of Naval Ratings Wives Association (NARAWA) whose husbands are the primary beneficiaries of the project.
