9 Brigade Hosts Its 2023 Christmas Carol Of 9 Lessons.

The Commander 9 Brigade, Brigadier General Adegoke Adetuyi, on Friday 21 December 2023, hosted personnel, families, and friends of the Brigade for the 2023 Christmas Carol of Nine Lessons. Present at the event were several choirs of different denominations who rendered beautiful Carol presentations in their angelic voices. Among them are the Living Faith Church Choir at Anthony Ilupeju, the Redeemed Christian Church of God Choir Onigbongbo, St Michael’s Church Choir, St Christopher’s Church Choir, St Charles’ Catholic Church, and the Christian Women Fellowship of St Micheal’s Church all in Nigerian Army Cantonment Ikeja.
General Adetuyi, in his Christmas goodwill message, expressed his heartfelt greetings to all the families of personnel in the barracks and invited guests who came to celebrate the joyous occasion with them. He emphasized that Christmas is a time when we reflect on the past year and look forward to glorious promises of the coming year.
The Commander congratulated all personnel of the Brigade for the untiring efforts being put into securing the Brigade’s Area of Responsibility (AOR) in conjunction with other security agencies in line with the Chief of Army Staff Command Philosophy which
is ‘To Transform the Nigerian Army into a Well- trained, Equipped and Highly Motivated Force Towards
Achieving our Constitutional
Responsibilities within a Joint Environment’.
He further emphasized that the Brigade has been able to achieve this feat through a number of operations and Army
sponsored exercises being conducted within the Brigade AOR, especially the ongoing Exercise
STILL WATERS Ill, which is aimed at providing a secured environment for all law-abiding citizens to celebrate the yuletide season without any let or hinderance.
In attendance was the General Officer Commanding 81 Division Nigerian Army Major General MT Usman, ably represented by Colonel Okechukwu Azuoro, the Commander 81 Division Medical Services and Hospital. Others are Cdre KO Oguntuga, Commander NNS BEECROFT, Air Commodore Olasunkanmi Abu, Commander BSG NAF, Lieutenant Colonel Juliet Aziekwu Acting Director Army Band and a host of other senior officers within Lagos. The Carol also had in attendance the Zonal Coordinator Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association, 9 Brigade Chapter, Mrs Nneka Shirley Adetuyi, who led the group of women in the Brigade for the occasion. The Carol also played host to numerous dignitaries who are friends of the Brigade.
The highlight of the event was filled with a lot of fun filled carol presentations, excitements, colourful decorations and attires, refreshments, and photographs.
