REPORT ON ONGOING MILITARY OPERATIONS BY THE ARMED FORCES OF NIGERIA AS AT 1 DECEMBER 2023
JOINT TASK FORCE OPERATION HADIN KAI (NORTH EAST)
- Troops of Operation HADIN KAI arrested suspected ISWAP/JAS terrorists in Chibok LGA and conducted fighting patrols in Kukawa, Bama and Gwoza LGAs in Borno State. Troops also conducted fighting patrols to Gulani LGAs of Yobe State where they arrested kidnappers and illegal miners.
- Troops discovered and detonated IEDs in Monguno, Mafa and Gwoza LGAs of Borno State and neutralized suspected ISWAP/JAS terrorists in Madagali in Adamawa State and Maiduguri Municipal Council area in Borno State.
- Details as follows:
a. Arrests of ISWA/JAS Terrorists. On 22 November 2023, troops while on fighting patrol arrested 11 suspected ISWAP/JAS terrorists in Chibok LGA of Borno State. Troops recovered 4 mobile phones. Investigation ongoing.
b. Fighting Patrol. On 20 November 2023, troops while on fighting patrol made contact with terrorists in Kukawa LGA of Borno State. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized one BH/ISWAP terrorists and recovered one AK47 rifle, 20 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 3 empty magazines, 4 mobile phones, one motorcycle and 2 camouflage magazine carrier jackets.
c. Surrender of BH/ISWAP Terrorists. Between 22 and 28 Nov 23, a total of 91 terrorist comprising 13 adult males, 35 adult females and 43 children surrendered to tps in OPHK. Profiling and documentation, ongoing.
d. Offensive Operation. On 23 November 2023, troops with Hybrid Forces conducted offensive operation to terrorists enclaves in Bama LGA of Borno State. Troops however made no contact,but recovered one dane gun, one magazine, wooden toy gun, one motorcycle engine, pumping machine and amongst others.
d. Fighting Patrols.
(1) On 23 November 2023, troops with Hybrid Forces conducted fighting patrol to terrorists enclaves and made contact in Gwoza LGA of Borno State. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 2 terrorists and recovered one vehicle.
(2) On 25 November 2023, troops with hybrid forces conducted fighting patrol to terrorist’s enclaves in Bama LGA of Borno State. Troops made no contact with terrorists. Troops evacuated 15 suspected family members of the terrorist comprising 7 adult females and 8 children.
(3) On 26 November 2023, troops responded to info on suspected kidnappers hibernating in Gulani LGA of Yobe State. Troops made contact with the kidnappers. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 2 terrorists and recovered one AK47 rifle with 4 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammo.
e. Arrest of Suspected Kidnapper. On 22 November 2023, troops with hybrid forces responded to info on activities of suspected kidnappers in Gulani LGA of Yobe State. Troops arrested one suspect and recovered one Dane gun, one cartridge and the sum of One Thousand Naira (₦1,000.00) only.
f. Discovery and Detonation of IEDs. Between 25 and 28 November 2023, troops in separate operations discovered and detonated IEDs planted by the terrorists in Monguno, Mafa and Gwoza LGAs of Borno State.
g. Kidnappers Activities. On 26 November 2023, troops with hybrid forces responded to info on kidnapping activities in Biu LGA of Borno State. Troops rescued the kidnap hostages and recovered one AK47 rifle with 4 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammo amongst other items.
h. Arrest of Suspected Illegal Miners. On 27 November 2023, troops conducted fighting patrol in Madagali LGA of Adamawa State and arrested 3 suspected illegal miners.
i. Neutralization of ISWAP/JAS Terrorists. On 27 November 2023, troops neutralized a ISWAP/JAS terrorists in Maiduguri Municipal Council area of Borno State. The suspect was neutralized while attempting to infiltrate troops defences. Troops recovered an AK 47 rifles loaded with 25 rounds of 7.62mm special, one UNIMAID Car Owner’s ID Card with assorted charms.
j. Ambush on BH/ISWAP Terrorist. On 27 November 2023, troops conducted ambush on BH/ISWAP terrorists in Konduga LGA of Borno State. Troops made contact with terrorists. Troops neutralized 3 terrorists and recovered 2 AK47 rifles, 30 rounds of 7.62mm special and one bicycle.
- Air Interdiction. Between 24 and 25 November 2023, following confirmation of terrorist activities at Tagoshe and Chongolo Kura. The air component of Operations HADIN KAI conducted air interdiction overhead the locations. Battle Damage Assessment revealed that over 130 terrorists gathered were neutralized with low possibility survivors for those wounded.
SUMMARY
- Overall, troops of Operation HADIN KAI neutralized 19 terrorists, arrested 52 and rescued 134 kidnapped hostages. Troops recovered 6 AK47 rifles, 2 locally made rifles, one locally made pistol, one dane gun, 58 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 7 live cartridges, 3 empty magazines, 3 vehicles, 8 mobile phones, 3 motorcycles, one bicycle and 2 camouflage magazine carrier jackets.
JOINT TASK FORCE OPERATION SAFE HAVEN (NORTH CENTRAL)
- Troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN raided an arms fabricating factory and recovered arms in Barkin Ladi and Mangu LGAs of Plateau State. Troops arrested suspected criminals Bassa and Zango Kataf of Plateau and Kaduna States respectively. Troops also arrested suspected gunrunner in Jos South LGA of Plateau State.
- Details are as follows:
a. Raid Operations
(1) On 23 November 2023, troops raided an arm fabricating factory in Barkin Ladi LGA of Plateau State. During the operation, troops arrested 4 suspects and recovered one fabricated rifle, one SMG, one fabricated pistol, 7 unfinished fabricated rifles, 6 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammo, one lister generator, fabricating tools, military kits, 4 mobile phones and the sum of Forty Three Thousand Eighty Hundred and Ninety Naira (N43,890.00) only.
(2) On 22 November 2023, troops raided a drug peddlers’ hideout in Mangu LGA of Plateau State. During the operation, troops arrested 9 persons and recovered substances suspected to be cannabis and other illicit drugs.
b. Arrest of Criminals.
(1) On 26 and 27 November 2023, in a separate operations, troops while on patrol arrested 4 criminals in Bassa LGA of Plateau State and recovered 2 locally made rifles, one locally made pistol, 7 cartridges, cutlasses, axes amongst other items.
(2) On 27 November 2023, troops arrested 3 wanted criminals in Zango Kataf LGA of Kaduna State and recovered 2 motorcycles, 3 mobile phones and the sum of Twenty Five Thousand Seven Hundred and Ten Naira (₦25,710.00) only.
c. Arrest of Gunrunner. On 23 November 2023, troops arrested a gunrunner name withheld in Jos South LGA of Plateau State. Investigation ongoing.
SUMMARY
- Overall, troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN neutralized 2 terrorists, arrested 37 and rescued 3 kidnapped hostages. Troops also recovered one fabricated rifle, one fabricated pistol, 7 unfinished fabricated rifles, 6 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, one lister generator, fabricating tools, military kits, 2 motorcycles, 3 mobile phones and the sum of N69,600.
OPERATION WHIRL STROKE (NORTH CENTRAL)
- Troops of Operation WHIRL STROKE conducted fighting patrol to Takum LGA of Taraba State. Additionally, troops responded to armed robbery activities and kidnap incident in Ukum and Katsina-Ala LGAs of Benue State. Furthermore, troops arrested cultists in Makurdi and
raided suspected kidnappers hideouts in Kwande LGAs in Benue State. - Details are as follows:
a. Fighting Patrol. On 22 November 2023, troops while conducting fighting patrol arrested 2 kidnappers in Takum LGA of Taraba State. The suspects were arrested in connection with payment of ransom of victims of kidnapping in the area. During the operation, troops recovered the sum of Four Hundred and Forty Five Thousand Naira (₦445,000.00) only.
b. Terrorists Activities. On 23 November 2023, troops responded to info on terrorists activities in Ukum LGA of Benue State. Troops made contact with the terrorists. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 3 terrorists and recovered 2 dane guns and 3 woodland camouflage uniforms.
c. Armed Robbery Activities. On 24 November 2023, troops responded to info on suspected armed robbery activities in Ukum LGA of Benue State. Troops made no contact with robbers. Troops exploited the general area and recovered one vehicle and 11 rounds of empty cases of 7.62mm Special ammo.
d. Kidnap Incident. On 24 November 2023, troops responded to info on kidnapping activities in Katsina-Ala LGA of Benue State. Troops rescued 7 kidnapped hostages in the operation.
e. Arrest of Suspected Cultists. On 25 November 2023, troops while conducting fighting patrol arrested 2 suspected cultists in Makurdi LGA of Benue State. The suspects who were linked to the murder of one Mr Gabriel Abu on 24 November 2023.
f. Raid Operation. On 25 November 2023, following INTREP, troops raided a suspected kidnappers’ hideout in Kwande LGA of Benue State. During the operation, troops apprehended 2 suspected kidnappers and rescued one kidnapped victim.
- Air Interdiction. On 26 November 2023, the Air Component Operation WHIRL STROKE conducted air Interdiction at terrorist’s kingpin ALI KAWAJE’s enclave in Dagam Shiroro LGA of Niger State. The presence of terrorist hibernating in the area was confirmed. Subsequently the target was acquired and engaged with rockets and bombs. Battle Damage Assessment revealed that several terrorists were neutralized with the structures destroyed.
SUMMARY
- Overall, troops of Operation WHIRL STROKE neutralized 5 terrorists, arrested 10 terrorists and rescued 1 kidnapped hostages. Troops also recovered 2 dane guns, 11 empty cases of 7.62mm, 3 pairs of woodland camouflage uniforms and the sum of N445,000 amongst other items.
JOINT TASK FORCE OPERATION HADARIN DAJI (NORTH WEST)
- The troops of Operation HADARIN DAJI conducted offensive operations to Bungudu and Maru LGAs of Zamfara State. Troops arrested a gunrunner in Kaura Namoda and Ibi LGAs of Zamfara and Taraba States respectively. Troops also responded to banditry activities in Sumaila LGA of Kano State.
- Additionally,troops conducted raid operations in Shanga and Takai LGAs of Kebbi and Kano States respectively. Troops rescued kidnapped hostages and arrested suspected bandits in Faskari, Talata Marafa, Kankara and Jibia LGAs of Katsina State as well as Zurmin LGA of Zamfara State.
- Details are as follows;
a. Offensive Operations.
(1) On 22 November 2023, troops while conducting offensive operation made contact with terrorists in Bungudu LGA of Zamfara State. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 4 terrorists and recovered 3 AK47 rifles, 30 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, one mobile phone, 3 camouflage uniforms, clothens and the sum of Nine Hundred Thousand Five Hundred Naira (₦900,500.00) only.
(2) On 24 November 2023, troops while conducting offensive operation arrested 4 suspected terrorists in Maru LGA of Zamfara State. Investigation ongoing.
b. Arrest of Gunrunners.
(1) On 22 November 2023, troops conducted a snap operation and intercepted a vehicle in Kaura Namoda LGA of Zamfara State.
Following a search, troops recovered one AK47 rifle, 61 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammo and 3 magazines. Investigation ongoing.
(2) On 24 November 2023, troops arrested 2 gunrunners in Ibi LGA of Taraba State. The arrested persons who’s identities are being withheld are cooperating with investigations.
c. Banditry Activities. On 24 November 2023, troops responded to info on bandits activities in Sumaila LGA of Kano State. Troops made contact, rescueing 6 victims as well as recovered 2 motorcycles. Also, troops evacuated injured family to hospital for medical attention.
d. Raid Operations.
(1) On 25 November 2023, troops with hybrid forces raided a terrorist hideout in Shanga LGA of Kebbi State. During the operation troops made contact with terrorist. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized 2 terrorist while others fled. Troops rescued 6 kidnapped hostages and recovered 1 AK47 rifle, one locally fabricated rifle and 20 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo.
(2) On 26 and 27 November 2023, troops in a separate operations raided criminal hideout in Takai LGA of Kano State. During the operation, troops arrested 5 persons. Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested persons were involved in kidnapping activities in the general area.
e. Rescue of Hostages.
(1) Between 23 and 27 November 2023, in a separate operations, troops while conducting fighting patrols rescued 16 kidnapped hostages in Faskari, Talata Marafa and Kankara LGAs of Katsina State. Rescued hostages have reunited with their families.
(2) On 26 November 2023, troops responded to info on bandits attack on commuters in Jibia LGA of Katsina State. Troops rescued 7 kidnapped hostages in the operation and recovered 2 vehicles.
f. Arrest of Bandits. On 26 November 2023, troops while on fighting patrol intercepted 2 trucks in Zurmin LGA of Zamfara State. Preliminary investigation revealed that the trucks belonged to 2 notorious terror kingpins identified as Dangote and Haru Danguntu. During the operation, troops arrested 3 persons and recovered 2 trucks.
- Air Interdiction. The air component of Operations HADARIN DAJI conducted air interdiction on 25 November 2023 at bandits’ enclave in Tsafe LGA of Zamfara State. Following confirmatory intelligence and ISR, the location was attacked with rockets and cannons. Battle Damage Assessment revealed several terrorist were neutralized as a result of the strike.
SUMMARY
- Overall, troops of Operation HADARIN DAJI neutralized 14 terrorists, arrested 20 terrorists and rescued 88 kidnapped hostages. Troops also recovered 9 AK47 rifles, 3 locally made rifles, 176 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 10 empty cases of 7.62mm special, 5 magazines, 4 vehicles, 10 motorcycles, 4 mobile phones, 3 pairs of camouflage uniforms and the sum of N900,500.00 amongst others.
OP WHIRL PUNCH (NORTH WEST)
- Troops of Operation WHIRL PUNCH arrested a gunrunner in Kaduna LGA of Kaduna State, and arrested criminals in Abaji Area Council of FCT Abuja. Troops equally raided criminals hideouts in Gwagwalada Area Council of FCT Abuja and conducted offensive operations in Abaji, and Kuje Area Councils of the FCT Abuja.
- Additionally,troops arrested an imposter and gunrunner in Kajuru and Birnin Gwari LGAs of Kaduna State. Troop’s also arrested a terrorist collaborator in Chikun LGA of Kaduna State.
- Details as follows:
a. Arrest of Suspected Gunrunners. On 22 November 2023, troops arrested a gunrunner name witheld in Kaduna LGA of Kaduna State. Following the arrest, troops recovered 130 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammo, one mobile phone, one National ID Card and the sum of Twenty-Eight Thousand Three Hundred Naira (₦28,300.00) only amongst other.
b. Arrest of Suspected Criminal. On 20 November 2023, troops while conducting stop and search operation arrested one suspect in Abaji Area Council of FCT Abuja. Troops recovered 5 pairs of Strike Force bullet proof plates and 4 locally made hand grenade. The suspects that items were given to him by personnel of Nigerian Police to convey from Katsina to Lagos. Investigation ongoing.
c. Raid Operation. On 20 November 2023, troops raided a criminal hideout in Gwagwalada Area Council of FCT Abuja. During the operation, troops arrested 5 persons. Troops recovered recovered one dagger, one POS Machine, 5 mobile phones, illicit drugs and the sum of One Hundred and Sixty-five Thousand Naira (₦165,000.00) only.
d. Offensive Operation. On 22 November 2023, troops with hybrid forces conducted offensive operation to Abaji and Kuje Area Councils of the FCT Abuja. During the operation, troops arrested 3 persons suspected of being informants for terrorist.
e. Arrest of Impostor. On 25 November 2023, troops while on patrol arrested an impostor in Kajuru LGA of Kaduna State. The suspect identified as Danladi Elisha Danfulani had been on troops watch list. He often parades himself as personnel of the Nigerian Army. Investigation ongoing.
f. Arrest of Gunrunners. On 26 November 2023, troops while on stop and search operation arrested a gunrunner in Birnin Gwari of Kaduna State. The gunrunner engaged troops in a fire fight to evade the search and was neutralized in action. Troops recovered a loaded pistol with 3 rounds of 9mm on his person. Troops then recovered one AK47 rifle concealed in a sack hidden in the vehicle.
g. Arrest of Terrorist Collaborators. On 26 November 2023, troops arrested 9 persons suspected of being collaborators of the terrorist in Chikun LGA of KADUNA State. Preliminary investigation revealed that suspects were running errand for one terror’ kingpin named Abdulkareem who was said to have escaped from Kuje Prison.
SUMMARY
- Overall, troops of Operation WHIRL PUNCH neutralized 4 terrorists, arrested 4 suspected terrorists and rescued 2 kidnapped hostages. Troops recovered one AK47 rifle, one pistol, 3 rounds of 9mm, one locally made pistol, locally made hand grenades, 5 pairs of Strike Force bullet proofs, 6 mobile phone, dagger and and the sum of N193,300.00 amongst others.
JOINT TASK FORCE OPERATION DELTA SAFE (SOUTH SOUTH)
- Troops of Operation DELTA SAFE maintained momentum against the activities of crude oil theft. Troops destroyed several illegal refining sites and recovered stolen products. Troops arrested persons involved in oil theft in Bonny and Ikpoba LGAs of Rivers and Edo States respectively. Troops also arrested suspected armed robbers and foiled illegal bunkering activities in Oshimili South and Ukwa West of Delta and Abia States respectively.
- Details as follows:
a. Troops Destroy Illegal Refining Sites. Troops recovered 186,700 litres of stolen crude oil and 435,600 litres of illegally refined AGO. Troops also apprehended 42 suspected oil thefts. Additionally, Troops discovered and destroyed 7 dugout pits, 19 boats, 35 storage tanks, 2 drums and 4 vehicles. Other items recovered include 118 cooking ovens, 2 pumping machines and 26 illegal refining sites.
b. Arrest of Suspected Criminals.
(1) On 23 November 2023, troops while on patrol arrested 16 suspected criminals in Bonny LGA of Rivers State. Troops recovered 2 empty wooden boats, one tug boat and an empty iron barge.
(2) On 27 November 2023, troops responded to a distress on activities of suspected criminals in Ikpoba Okha LGA of Edo State. Troops arrested suspected criminal and recovered one locally made pistol.
c. Arrest of Suspected Armed Robbers. On 28 November 2023, troops while on fighting patrol made contact with armed robbers in Oshimili South LGA of Delta State. During the operation, troops arrested 8 persons suspected of being involved in the robbery. Following the arrest, 2 of the suspects engaged troops in a fire fight and were neutralized. Troops recovered 2 locally fabricated pistols, 10 cartridges, 17 mobile phones and the sum of Twenty-Nine Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty Naira (₦29,850.00) amongst other items.
d. Anti-illegal Bunkering Operations. On 28 November 2023, troops responded to info of illegal bunkering activities and made contact in Ukwa-West LGA of Abia State. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized one while others fled. Troops recovered one pump action gun, 24 live cartridges and matchete amongst others.
SUMMARY
- Overall, troops of Operation DELTA SAFE recovered 186,700 litres of stolen crude oil and 435,600 litres of illegally refined AGO. Additionally, Troops discovered and destroyed 7 dugout pits, 19 boats, 35 storage tanks, 2 drums and 4 vehicles. Other items recovered include 118 cooking ovens, 2 pumping machine and 34 illegal refining sites,
- Troops also apprehended 58 suspected oil thefts and other criminals elements amongst other. Additionally, troops recovered 2 locally fabricated pistols, one pump action gun, 34 live cartridges, 17 mobile phones and the sum of N29,850.
JOINT TASK FORCE OPERATION UDO KA (SOUTH EAST)
- Troops of Operation UDO KA arrested suspected criminals in Anambra East in Anambra state , as well as Aba East and Ukwa West LGAs of Abia State. Troops also conducted fighting patrol to notorious terrorists camp in Okigwe LGA of Imo State. Troops also arrested a gunrunner in Umunneochi LGA of Abia State.
- Additionally, troops successfully repelled an attack by IPOB/ESN criminals on troops location in Nnewi South LGA of Anambra State. Furthermore, troops conducted raid and rescued kidnapped hostages in Ishielu and Igbo Eze North LGAs of Ebonyi and Enugu States respectively.
- Details as follows:
a. Arrest of Suspected Criminals.
(1) On 22 November 2023, troops while on patrol arrested 2 suspected criminals in Anambra East LGA of Anambra State. Preliminary investigation revealed that suspects were members of a robbery gang that terrorized the general area.
(2) Between 22 and 24 November 2023, troops in a separate operations arrested 5 suspected criminals in Anambra East, Aba East and Ukwa West LGAs of Anambra and Abia States respectively. Preliminary investigation revealed that 3 of the criminals were armed robbers and one impostor.
b. Fighting Patrol. On 23 November 2023, troops in conjunction with hybrid forces conducted fighting patrol to notorious terrorists’ camps in Okigwe LGA of Imo State. During the operation, troops made contact with criminals. Following a fire fight, troops neutralized one terrorist while others fled. Troops also cleared several terrorists camps and destroyed terrorist IED factory.
c. Arrest of Suspected Gunrunner. On 23 November 2023, troops with hybrid forces arrested a suspected gunrunner in UmunneochiLGA of Abia State.
d. IPOB/ESN Criminals Attack on Troops. On 24 November 2023, troops respond and successfully repelled an attack by IPOB/ESN criminals in Nnewi South LGA of Anambra State. Following a fire fight, the criminals fled. Troops exploited the general area and recovered 14 rounds of 7.62mm linked NATO ammo.
e. Raid Operation. On 24 November 2023, troops with hybrid forces conducted a raid operation in Ishielu LGA of Ebonyi State. During the operation, troops arrested one suspected IPOB informant.
f. Rescue of Victims. On 27 November 2023, troops while on routine patrol rescued 2 villagers in Igbo Eze North LGA of Enugu State. The rapist were tied up for extrajudicial justice by the community youths for alleged rape case. Rescued victims were handed over to Nigerian Police authority.
SUMMARY
- Overall, troops of Operation UDO KA neutralized 3 criminals, arrested 15 suspected IPOB/ESN criminals and rescued 5 kidnapped hostages. Troops also recovered 14 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammo.
JOINT TASK FORCE OPERATION AWATSE (SOUTH WEST)
- Troops of Operation AWATSE foiled armed robbery attacks in Orelope and Olorunsogo LGAs of Oyo State. Troops arrested a gunrunner in Obafemi Owode LGA of Ogun.
- Details as follows:
a. Foiled Armed Robbery Attacks. On 27 November 2023, troops responded to information on armed robbery incident between Orelope and Olorunsogo LGAs of Oyo State. Troop rescued 15 victims and recovered 2 vehicles in the operation. Also, injured victims were evacuated to hospital for medical attention.
b. Arrest of Suspected Gunrunner. On 27 November 2023, troops with hybrid forces conducted a raid in Obafemi Owode LGA of Ogun State. During the operation, troops arrested 2 persons. Preliminary investigation revealed one of the arrested persons to be a suspected gunrunner.
SUMMARY
- Overall, troops of Operation AWATSE arrested 2 suspected criminals, rescued 15 kidnapped hostages and recovered 2 vehicles. All recovered items, arrested suspects and rescued hostages were handed over to the relevant authority for further action.

PRESS RELEASE ON ONGOING MILITARY OPERATIONS BY THE ARMED FORCES OF NIGERIA AS AT 1 DECEMBER 2023
- The ongoing military operations continues to decimated the fighting force of the insurgents, terrorist and violent extremist across the country. Accordingly, their fighting capacity is low and they are on the run.
- Troops are targeting the leadership of these groups to ensure they pose no further threat to the safety and security of citizens. Significantly, on 29 Nov 23, at Tarum Village located on the outside of Bauchi Metropolis in Bauch Stage. Troops collaborated with personnel of DSS to conduct a sting operation that culminated in the arrest of the leader of ISWAP terrorist group incharge of North Central and North West Zones. He is in custody. Similarly, air interactions have been conducted on several enclaves of these of these terrorist leaders in the NW and NC zones with much success.
- Sadly in the fight economic saboteurs in the SS, a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) MI-35P helicopter crashed at 7.45am in Port Harcourt on 1 December 2023. The incident took place in Port Harcourt shortly after the aircraft took off to embark its operations. Gladly, the entire crew of 5 survived the crash with very minor injuries. They are responding to treatment at NAF Medical Centre Port Harcourt. Nevertheless, the incident would be investigated and the outcome commnicated.
- The operations of the week in focus, resulted in 52 neutralized terrorists, while 204 of them were arrested. Troops also arrested 58 perpetrators of oil theft and rescued 234 kidnapped hostages. In the SS, troops denied the oil theft of the estimated sum of Six Hundred and Sixty Eight Million Seven Hundred Thirty One Thousand Naira (N668,731,000.00) only.
- Furthermore, troops recovered 46 assorted weapons and 148 assorted ammunition. The breakdown are as follows: 30 AK47 rifles, 2 josef magnum pump action gun, one double barrel gun, 2 single barrel guns, 12 locally made pistols, 13 dane guns, one hand grenade, 9 locally made rifles, 3 RPG chargers, 2 locally made hand grenades.
- Others are: 120 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 364 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 54 live cartridges, 11 rounds of empty cases of 7.62mm special ammo, 32 magazines, 34 vehicles, 64 mobile phones, 47 motorcycles and sum of N1,582,690.00 amongst other items.
- Troops in the Niger Delta area destroyed 7 dugout pits, 25 boats, 47 storage tanks, 5 vehicles, 141 cooking ovens, one pumping machine, one outboard engine, one tricycle, one speedboat, one tugboat and 51 illegal refining sites. Troops recovered 267,700 litres of stolen crude oil, 567,700 litres of illegally refined AGO and 5,000 litres of DPK.
- The leadership of these groups remain the prime targets of ongoing operations. Accordingly, the armed forces remains determinate to destroy the terrorists, insurgents and violent extremist groups in the country and degrading their military capability.
