2023 Volleyball: CNS Ogalla Honours Navy spikers After Outstanding Tournament.

The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla on Tuesday has promised   improved prize  for the Chief of Naval Staff  Spikers male and female teams as a result of their outstanding performance  at the  African Club Volleyball Championship which was hosted in the city of  keliba Tunisia.


CNS Spikers came first position with a total of 24 points, Nigeria Correctional Service finished second position with a total of 18 points, Kwara United surprisingly placed third position with a cumulative point of 7 points; UCEM of Enugu with a total point of 7 points came fourth while G-Ranks Spikers placed fifth place with a total of 4 points in the men’s National Division 1 League.

At the event which holds at Naval Headquarters in Abuja,The CNS, who was represented by Rear Admiral Keneth Ezete, Chief of Administration of the Naval headquarters said “You have made the Nigerian Navy and the nation proud.

“We are very proud of your performance in Tunisia,He said.

” I encourage you to explore other resourceful activities that can benefit you in your later years, He noted.

“This is a proven method of motivation, and we will definitely implement it, He revealed.

According to him “Monetary reward is a major factor that motivates sports men and women to excel, even though their passion for the sport is the driving force behind their dedication, he said.

“Once the CNS returns, I will personally relay the message to him ,He said

“In addition to monetary rewards, we will also consider including sports men and women in the upcoming special recruitment of medical personnel, he stated.

“This initiative will not only provide them with additional career opportunities but also prevent those who are not currently in active service from seeking employment elsewhere for financial reasons,Rear Admiral Ezete Revealed.

In the same vein,The Chairman, Nigerian Navy Volleyball Association and the CNS Spikers Volleyball Club, Commodore Mohammed Muye revealed that, the male team was unbeaten in all the matches played and were crowned champions in Kaduna in October 2023.

“We wish to sincerely acknowledge and appreciate the assistance of the Chief of the Naval Staff for the magnanimity of giving us the privilege to bring into the Service some of these players courtesy of CNS SPIKERS VOLLEYBALL CLUB. As at today we still have few of them at the NNBTS undergoing training.


“The CNS Spikers male and female teams were again, nominated based on excellent performances to represent Nigeria at the African Club, he said.

“Consequently, the team has gained promotion to play in the Premier League in 2024. The female team also topped the 1st and  2nd phases of the premier league played in Abuja in July 2023 and November  2023 and have been crowned champions of the National Volleyball Premier league 2023, He said.

“It is also pertinent to mention that the male team won five individual awards including the MVP. Likewise, the female won three individual awards including the MVP,  he said.
