NIGERIAN ARMY RESOURCE CENTRE ABUJA HOLDS MAIDEN FELLOWS AND MEMBERS CONFERENCE.

The Nigerian Army Resource Centre Abuja today commenced its 1st Annual Conference for Fellows and Members. The conference’s theme is “Nigeria’s Security in the 21st Century: Issues, Challenges and Panacea”, in which the renowned Professor Isaac Olawole Albert of the University of Ibadan is the Keynote Speaker.
After the welcome address by the Director-General, Major General GA Wahab (rtd), the Chief of Army Staff Nigerian Army, Lieutenant General F Yahaya, who is also the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, declared the conference open.
Other resource persons scheduled to speak during the two-day conference today are Professor Jim Unah of the University of Lagos, who will talk about the “Conceptualisation Security: The Responsibility of the Military to Itself.” Doctor Joseph Ochogwu of the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution will speak on “The Survey Coordination Act of 1962 and National Security concerns in Nigeria: Imperatives for Reform and Development”, while Doctor Terfa Anjov will speak on “Metaphysics of Corruption: A panacea of Insecurity in Nigeria.”
Tomorrow Wednesday, 30 March 2022, which is day two of the conference, will start with a presentation by Brigadier General AOD Okoro, PhD. He discusses “Banditry, Ungoverned Spaces and National Security in Nigeria: A Cursory Look at Kaduna and Zamfara and the Kaduna from States.”
Mujong Rachael Humwapwa will present “Youths in Peace and Security in Nigeria: Limitations and Prospects”, and Doctor David Onota will talk about “The Military in National Security.” Plenary sessions will follow each presentation to discuss the presentation view further. Coming out with sound recommendations and viable implementation strategies to enhance our national security.
This is the first time such distinguished personalities meet together aside from the monthly lecture series.Source:SK Usman.
