FG COMMISERATES WITH THE REPUBLIC OF ZAMBIA OVER THE DEMISE OF RUPIAH BANDA, FORMER PRESIDENT OF ZAMBIA.

The Federal Government of Nigeria wishes to extend sincere condolences to the family, the Government and people of the Republic of Zambia on the demise of H.E. Rupiah Banda, the fourth President of the Republic of Zambia, on Friday, 11th March, 2022.

This was contained in a statement signed by MFA Spokesperson Mrs Francisca K. Omayuli (Mrs)Spokesperson Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja.

The late President was a Pan Africanist and elder statesman. He will be remembered as a great diplomat who played a leading role in the fight against apartheid and decolonization of Southern Africa.Africa has lost a gallant son.May his soul rest in peace.
