1ST CORONATION ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION: AWUJAKO PLEADS WITH GOV. DAPO ABIODUN ON IBORO – IJAKO – AGA OLOWO ROAD.

It was with pomp and peangantry over the weekend that HRM, Oba Mathew Alabi Ewedairo, the Awujako of Ijako Orile, Yewa North celebrated his 1st year anniversary on the throne of his forebears.

The turnout was unprecedented in the ancient town of Ijako Orile with people from all walks of life from the local government chairman, Hon. Gabriel Ogunyomi, his Vice, Hon. Olubukola Omoyayi, Traditional Rulers, top management of Dangote Cement – Ibese, led by the Deputy General Manager, Mr Ade Ojolowo, Indigenes of Ijako Orile from far and near, guests of the celebrant, kabiyesi as well as other Chiefs that seized the opportunity of the anniversary to celebrate their installation as chiefs under the amiable kabiyesi.

In kabiyesi’s address at the occasion, after so much appreciation to the people of Ijako Orile. The Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Kehinde Olugbenle MFR who was unavoidably absent due to a State function that clashed with the event was prayed for by Awujako, for his love and how he enjoined him to intensify more efforts on reconciliation and the advice has brought so much peace and transquility as manifested in the turnout.

Kabiyesi in his address said “Within one year on the throne, I have encouraged many indigenes of Ijako Orile home and abroad to come and join me in the rebuilding process of Ijako Orile; many are Chiefs today and we are working together everyday on how to take Ijako Orile back to the glorious era. In the last one year, the numbers of building foundation and old buildings redevelopment within the community are good and assuring signs that we are progressing in our vision.”

He also reiterated that “Ijako Orile is the PRINCIPAL host Community to Dangote Cement Plc; the land on which Dangote is sighted is Adapele – Ijako (one of our homestead). As long as we have been trying to forget some horrible past treatments Ijako Orile has suffered when we are supposed to be in affluence, we implore all concerned to have a rethink and start to treat Ijako accordingly in the interest of fairness, justice and fear of God.”

Kabiyesi said “I want to sincerely appreciate His Excellency, the governor of Ogun State, Prince (Dr) Dapo Abiodun MFR and other members of his cabinet, especially the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Afolabi Afuape on the developmental strides the government is doing across the State but Yoruba bo, won ni Teni la n ja ninu eesu.”

“I implore our dear Governor to help include the road that connect Yewa North and Ewekoro Local Governments; that is Iboro – Ijako – Aga Olowo Road. The economic impact of the road is enormous and particularly to serve as the major buffer road to the fast congesting Dangote route of Igbogila – Ibeshe – Itori Road.”

The address was concluded with appreciation to the entire members of the Yewa Traditional Council for their show of love; “The reception I received from the Kabiyesis I met at the Yewa Traditional Council under the leadership of our father, the Paramount Ruler gave me high hope that love truly is the only way to progress.”
