SIXTH AFRICAN UNION – EUROPEAN UNION SUMMIT

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to inform that the Sixth African Union – European Union Summit is scheduled to hold from Thursday 17th to Friday 18th February, 2022 in Brussels, Belgium.

The leaders of both organisations as well as their respective Member States will be meeting to deliberate on deepening the AU – EU partnership through building greater prosperity for the two continents, in the face of global challenges such as climate change and the current health crisis. Priority will also be given to issues relating to stability and security.

This was contained in a statement signed by Mrs Francisca K. Omayuli,Spokesperson
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and made available to Outlook Media in Abuja.

According to the statement,”There will be seven (7) thematic roundtables and Nigeria will be participating in discussions on Peace and Security; as well as on Health and Vaccine Production.

President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR will be accompanied to the Summit by the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Honourable Minister of Environment, the Honourable Minister of Health and other top government officials.
