BINGHAM UNIVERSITY SEEKS COLLABORATE WITH NIGERIAN BUILDING AND ROAD RESEARCH INSTITUTE

The Director-General/CEO of the Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI), Prof. Samson Duna and the Management Team of the Institute on Thursday 5th of August, 2021 received the Vice Chancellor of Bingham University on a courtesy visit to NBRRI.
Appreciating the DG/CEO for opening his doors for them to come in despite his busy schedule, the Vice Chancellor of Bingham University, Prof. William Barnabas Qurix began by giving a brief on the history of the University. In his brief, Prof. William stated that Bingham University located in Karu, 25 kilometres from the Federal Capital city of Nigeria Abuja, was established in 2005 by the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) as a Conventional University. It is one of the six private universities in the north and the only one established by a Christian organization.
The main purpose of ECWA was to meet the daring need for high quality Secular Education which recognizes and integrates the moral and spiritual values on which the Christian faith is founded as well as focuses on entrepreneurial studies in order to promote self-reliance among graduates of the University.
In his speech, Prof. William explained that the mission of Bingham University is to produce graduates that are excellent in knowledge, character and skills for self-reliance and in the fear of Christ. This according to him engineered the purpose pf the courtesy visit to NBRRI as the University Don seek collaboration with NBRRI in areas of Capacity Building, Knowledge Based Research, Technology and Innovation that will be of great assistance to both the students of the University and staff of both the University and NBRRI.
Prof. William concluded by appreciating the DG/CEO for his audience and stated that this visit will contribute immensely to the vision of the University which is to become a world class University in knowledge and skills while inculcating moral and spiritual values on which the Christian faith is founded.
Responding to the request and purpose of the visit, Prof. Samson Duna expressed readiness and pledged the Institute’s full support to collaborate with the University to uplift the country’s R&Ds to a greater level.
To build a stronger synergy between both Institutions, a six-man committee was constituted comprising three members from Bingham University and three members from NBRRI with a mandate given to them to come up with a document suggesting other possible areas of collaborations and developing MoU.
