FRC, Auditor General Partner To Block Fiscal Leakages In Public Offices.

Fiscal Responsibility Commission and the Office o Auditor General for the Federation have reaffirmed their commitment to support each other in helping the federal government to fight corruption waste in government agencies.

They will also continue to use the instruments of the offices in helping the government to raise revenue for it’s operators by improving checks on fiscal regulations and discouraging compliance by government agencies inadequate remittances and poor implementation of projects, Bede O. Anyanwu, Head, Strategic Communications Directorate noted.

The position was made known in a course of a courtesy visit by the Management of Fiscal Responsibility Commission led by it’s Chairman, Barrister Victor Muruako to the Auditor General for the Federation, Mr. Ughu Adulphus.

The FRC Chairman who congratulated Mr. Aghughu on his recent appointment to the position by Mr. President, His Excellency, Muhammed Buhari GCFR, pleaded with the office of the Auditor General to take cognisance of the template for the calculation of operating surplus in the course of carrying out its audit functions on Ministries, Directorates and Agencies.

He recalled that the approval of the template was officially introduced in 2016 through the Federal Treasury circular (Ref. No: TRY A10 & B10/2016) OAGF/CAD/026/V.III/101
The Auditor General for the Federation, Mr. Aghughu thanked his guests assuring them that the two sister Agencies belong to the public finance management family and are working for the same general purpose of enthroning prudence, accountability and value-for- money in government operations.
He affirmed his commitment to the war on corruption and to measures that improve the compliance of Ministries, Directorates and Agencies of government as well as government owned businesses to extant rules and regulations.
